Introduction
Candid – An overview in their own words.
Candid’s mission is to get you the information you need to do good. We make it easier and faster for nonprofits and funders to connect in pursuit of solutions to change the world. Candid is where nonprofits find grants, donors find nonprofits that inspire them, and all can gain insights about the work being done for good.
Candid’s data tells the story of the nonprofit sector. With an unparalleled level of detail, our data explains where the money comes from, where it goes, and why it matters.
We provide a comprehensive picture of funding from foundations and other grantmaking institutions, far beyond total giving. We process grants transactions to uncover details on the nonprofits that foundations are funding, by how much, and for what programs, along with offering rich, detailed grant descriptions you can’t find anywhere else.
Candid also has data on more than 1.9 million organizations, updated with unique data from nonprofits and grantmakers themselves. Our profiles provide the place where nonprofits tell the story of how they deploy funding to make a difference.
Finally, comprehensive data allows us to better understand nonprofits and philanthropy and can inform decision-making across the sector. Our research team analyzes this data to add context, reveal trends, and uncover patterns. We go beyond numbers to explain why this data matters.
